Docs / Install Agent

Install Zentriq Agent

3 minutes · No credit card · Direct download (AppSource submission in progress)

Before you start
  • A Microsoft 365 account (same one you use for Business Central)
  • A Business Central environment on version 25 or later (Cloud, Sandbox or Production)
  • Permission to upload extensions in your BC tenant — usually System Admin or the EXTEN. MGT. permission set

1. Sign up for Zentriq (30 seconds)

Go to app.zentriqsoftware.com and sign in with your Microsoft work account. No password to create, no credit card. You land on your dashboard.

2. Download the .app file

Grab the current release below, or — if you're already signed in — use the “Download Zentriq for BC” button on your dashboard. Either way, you get Zentriq Software_Zentriq_1.1.0.0.app. Save it anywhere; you'll upload it into BC in the next step.

Download the .app (latest)~790 KB · BC 25+ · Zentriq Software

If your IT team asks for file-integrity verification, email support@zentriqsoftware.com — we'll send the SHA-256 checksum of the current release out-of-band.

3. Upload the extension in Business Central

  1. Open your BC environment in a browser (https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/<your-tenant>).
  2. Use the search bar (press Alt+Q) and type “Extension Management”. Open the page.
  3. Click Manage → Upload Extension from the action bar.
  4. Drag your .app file into the dialog. Pick your language if prompted.
  5. Click Deploy. A status dialog opens — wait ~30 seconds and refresh.

About the “untrusted publisher” warning

When you upload the .app, BC shows a yellow banner: “This extension is not from a trusted source.” This is expected for every extension not yet on AppSource. Microsoft's AppSource review is what turns that warning off — our submission is in progress.

In the meantime:

  • Click Deploy to proceed. The warning only relates to provenance, not runtime safety.
  • Your BC's own permission sets still control what the extension can do — it can't escalate privileges.
  • The source code runs inside your tenant (never on our servers).
  • If your IT team needs more context, forward them our 2-page security overview.

4. Connect BC (OAuth — 30 seconds)

Open any BC page. Scroll to the bottom — you'll see the Zentriq Chat widget. Click it. A Microsoft sign-in popup appears:

  1. Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used for Zentriq in step 1.
  2. Review the requested permissions (read and write access to BC's API, limited to what your BC user role allows).
  3. Click Accept. The popup closes. The chat becomes active.

BC admins of the tenant can grant admin consent once, which means team members don't see this popup. If the popup fails with “admin consent required”, ask your tenant admin to grant it (one-time, 30 seconds) or temporarily allow user-level consent in Entra ID settings.

5. Send your first message

Try:

  • List open purchase orders from this vendor (if you're viewing a Vendor card)
  • Create a sales invoice for customer 10000 with 2× item 1936-S
  • What did we spend with vendor 40000 last quarter?

Your dashboard's Getting Started checklist flips the last step to ✓ the moment it detects your first message. That's your signal that the install is fully wired up.

Troubleshooting

“Extension failed to deploy”

Check the deploy status log (Extension Management → Details). Most common cause: the tenant is on a BC version older than 25. Upgrade your BC environment (or use a sandbox on v25+) and retry.

The chat widget doesn't appear on BC pages

  • Hard-refresh the BC page (Ctrl+F5) — BC caches its page layouts.
  • Confirm the extension shows Installed in Extension Management.
  • Check your browser's console: ad-blockers or corporate firewalls sometimes block app.zentriqsoftware.com.

OAuth popup fails: “Admin consent required”

Your Entra ID admin restricts third-party app access. Either:

  • Ask your admin to grant tenant-wide consent to the Zentriq Agent app (one-time, takes 30 seconds).
  • Or have the admin temporarily allow user-level consent in Entra ID settings.

“Your account is pending approval”

Beta access is manual during the first weeks. You'll receive an email once an admin flips your flag. In urgent cases, email support@zentriqsoftware.com with your BC environment details.

I see “No active organization subscription”

You're on the free plan but your org has been downgraded (expired card, cancelled plan, etc.). Go to your dashboard, click Manage subscription, and reactivate. Chat activity resumes instantly.
